Responsibilities

The Fleet Manager will oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure that the equipment remains in optimal working condition and meets safety standards. This individual will maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs to inform decision making and identify areas for improvement. This individual will keep track of PM services for each piece of equipment and ensure that all PM’s are completed when they’re due. This individual will develop and implement strategies to optimize the performance of the equipment fleet.

This individual will develop clear communication channels with Scott Equipment service departments and third-party service vendors to ensure the individual’s supervisor receives regular updates on equipment status so that inspections/repairs are conducted in a timely manner. This individual will ensure that the supervisor receives repair estimates before work is done on our equipment. This individual will collaborate with service departments to ensure that our equipment is available when needed and used effectively to support business operations.

This individual will work with Scott Equipment service departments to ensure telematic devices are installed in all equipment. This individual will become competent using existing service management systems that assist in tracking and maintaining our equipment fleet.

Management / Sales Representatives will send out emails when equipment goes out on rent or comes in off rent. The Fleet Manager’s responsibility will be to manage logistics of equipment transfers between branches and customer jobsites. When equipment is returned from rent, this individual will ensure that necessary inspection forms are completed by the appropriate service department, inbound pictures are taken, any damages notated & communicated with the customer, and a quote is issued.

This individual will send out an inventory spreadsheet each week to Management/Sales Representatives that shows equipment that’s on rent and equipment that’s available to go out on rent.

It is important that this individual understands the sense of urgency that is encouraged within the industry.


Qualifications

Previous supervisory/management experience preferred

Industry and/or aftermarket service support experience preferred

Strong customer service skills

Strong time management skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Self-motivated

Detail oriented

Strong computer skills
